Doctor's Icon in Patient Flow

Doctors are assigned an icon that displays within the Patient Flow screen when they have a patient waiting. The icons have the following meanings:

• A large blinking or revolving icon indicates the doctor needs to see the patient first. Note: The icon begins revolving after one minute.
• A small icon displays for patients that are waiting for the doctor. When the patient moves to first position, the icon changes to large and begins blinking and revolving.
• If more than one doctor needs to see the patient, multiple icons display.
• If a clinical staff member selects to Urgently Request Doctor, the icon will revolve and jump up and down in Patient Flow.

Add Doctor and Assign Icon

1. Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup.
2. Type your password and click OK.
3. Go to Staff/Security.
4. Click the + icon.
5. Type name and password information. Note: Use Dr. before their first name for easy recognition of doctors within the practice.
6. Click Create Staff Member.

Change Icon

1. Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup.
2. Type your password and click OK.
3. Go to Staff/Security.
4. Highlight the doctor's name in the list.
5. The icon displays, click the icon.
6. Click Change Icon.
7. Select the icon that does not have a doctor's name assigned to it.
8. Click Change Icon.
