Contact List > 500 Contacts

You've created a custom contact list for a TopsDPX broadcast, but it exceeds the 500 maximum. No worries - we've got you!

You may have found that when you try to split your spreadsheet in half, TopsDPX doesn't accept the second spreadsheet. This is because it is missing headers. The method below ensures that you create two (or more) spreadsheets with headers.

  1. Follow the steps in the related article Create a Custom Contact List for TopsDPX. See below.
  2. Once you have opened your contact list as a spreadsheet in Numbers or Excel, name the spreadsheet something like "Part 1."
  3. Click and drag to highlight the entire spreadsheet.
  4. Press Command C to copy the spreadsheet.
  5. Open a new spreadsheet. In both Numbers and Excel, you can do this by going to File > New.
  6. Name the new spreadsheet "Part 2."
  7. In the new empty spreadsheet, click on the top left cell and press Command V to paste.
  8. In Part 1 spreadsheet, click and drag to highlight contacts 501 and on. Press Delete. You now have the first 500 contacts on spreadsheet "Part 1."
  9. In Part 2 spreadsheet, click and drag to highlight contacts 1-500. Press Delete. You will be prompted to shift cells up - choose this option. You now have the second half of your contacts on spreadsheet "Part 2."
  10. You can now follow the steps to send a Broadcast in Tops DPX; just upload both spreadsheets!
