Add Elastic Configurations

If you do not find the elastic configuration that you need, it is easy to add a new one.

First, make sure you have the Elastic Size you need:

  1. Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup > Labels > Elastic Size.
  2. Type your password and click OK.
  3. Go to Labels.
  4. In the Label Type field, select Elastics Size from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the + icon.
  6. Type the size information and press the return key.

Next, name your Elastics Configuration:

  1. Select Elastics Configuration within the Labels dropdown menu.
  2. Click the + icon.
  3. Type the new Elastics Configuration name and press the return key.
  4. Open the patient's chart and select Tx Notes+.
  5. Click the Elastics icon, or right-click on the tooth chart.
  6. Select Start New Elastic and select the Elastic Size.

  1. Click the starting bracket and each bracket where the elastic connects.
  2. Finish by clicking the bracket where the elastic began, forming a loop.
  3. Once you have drawn the elastic, click on the elastic again and select Name This Elastic.
  4. Select your new elastic configuration name and click OK.
  5. Now you can place named elastics with ease! Just click the elastics icon and select your desired elastic configuration from the Place Named Elastic... dropdown menu!
