Function Tools in TopsCephMate

Click the function icons to move through the program.

  • Landmark Tool (or press the 1 key): Displays the landmark points for positioning on the X-ray.
  • Contour Tool (or press the 2 key): Displays the contour points for positioning on the photo.
  • Measurement Analysis Tool (or press the 3 key): Displays the angle measurements of points on the selected X-ray analysis.
  • Treatment Planning Tool (or press the 4 key): Creates treatment objectives for the patient and shows the effects on the soft tissue.
  • Superimposition Tool (or press the 5 key): Displays superimpositions of a patient’s treatment plans.
  • Lock Tool: Locks and unlocks landmarks and contours.
  • Magnifier Tool (or press the shift key): Enlarges an area in the window, you can also hold down the shift key and scroll forward or backward or use the up and down arrows to change contrast.

Landmark Tool

The Landmark tool displays the hard tissue points along the right side of the window. The first point (Sella) is already attached to the mouse pointer. Click to drop the point. Once it has been marked, TopsCephmate automatically advances to the next point. Tab to skip through points you do not want to place or click the point in the list you wish to place next. Notice the Action Key shortcuts at the bottom of the instruction window. If you are unable to finish marking all of the points at one sitting, be sure to save the file.


Contour Tool

The Contour tool displays the available soft tissue points along the right side of the window. Each contour contains a series of points that must be indicated in order for TopsCephmate to complete the contour. The first landmark (Soft Glabella) is already attached to the mouse pointer. Click to drop the point. Once it has been marked, TopsCephmate automatically advances to the next point. If you need to move a landmark, click the point and drag to reposition. If you are unable to finish marking all of the points at one sitting, be sure to save the file.


Measurement Analysis Tool

The Measurement Analysis tool displays different types of ceph analyses. Click an analysis type to display the measurements and standard deviations in the upper right window. Choose your default analysis in Preferences. The measurements and lines associated with each analysis open to the right of the window.


Treatment Planning Tool (VTO)

The Treatment Planning tool displays the initial time-point and any treatment plans that have been created for the patient. The soft tissue adjusts automatically as you create treatment objectives. Measurements are displayed at the bottom of the analysis window on the selected treatment plan.


Superimposition Tool

The Superimposition tool allows more than one treatment plan in the viewing window for comparison. Simply drag treatment plans into the viewing window. Tab to move through various superimpositions.
