Do you use a Dymo brand printer for appointment slips? Here are your most common questions answered:

What should I do if my 500-model Dymo isn't printing?

  • Install the correct printer driver. The correct driver is determined by:
  • After you have installed the driver, re-install the Dymo printer and restart the workstation.
  • Make sure you are using Dymo brand paper/labels/stickers. Dymo made this mandatory for all 500 models.

My Dymo printer is printing appointment slips in the wrong size. How can I fix this?

  1. In the Tops Ortho menu, go to File > Page Setup.
  2. In the Page Setup window, select your Dymo printer from the Format For dropdown menu.
  3. If the Dymo printer is not an option, it has not been properly installed; you must install it before continuing.
  4. From the Paper Size dropdown menu, select Manage Custom Sizes.
  5. In the bottom left corner, click the + icon to add a custom paper size.
  6. Name your custom paper size Dymo Appointment Card.
  7. Set the following:
    1. Width: 2 inches
    2. Height: 3.5 inches
    3. Select User Defined
    4. Enter .25 inches for all margins
  8. Click OK to close.
  9. The Page Setup window will now reflect the Dymo LabelWriter Printer and the Dymo Appointment Card paper size. This paper size will remain the default until you use this printer for another type of document.


How can I stop my Dymo from printing extra slips?

  • Use a soft cloth or cotton swab to clean the sensor on your Dymo printer.
  • Make sure that the Dymo printer is selected as Appointment Slip Printer.
  • Select the Appointment Cards radio button.

I've tried the steps above, and my Dymo printer still isn't printing. What's next?

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connected to the Dymo printer.
  2. Go to Apple Menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  3. Remove the Dymo printer using the minus icon.
  4. Disconnect the power cable from the Dymo printer.
  5. Press the button on the front of the Dymo printer 15-20 times.
  6. Connect the Dymo printer to power only.
  7. Press the button on the front of the Dymo printer once to advance one label.
  8. Plug the USB cable from the Dymo printer into your workstation.
  9. Press the + icon in Apple Menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  10. Select the Dymo printer on the list and click Add.
  11. Make sure the Dymo printer shows in Printers & Scanners. If not, check the USB cable connection.
