Report Tips

Use the following tips to organize and analyze reports in Tops Ortho.

Sort Your Reports:

  • To sort columns in a report, click and drag the column to the left or right; let go when it is in your desired spot.
  • To sort items within a column, click the column title. For numbers, Tops Ortho will sort in descending order on the first click. On the second click, it will sort in descending order.

Customize Your Columns:

Many Tops Ortho reports allow you to change column headers to see your desired information!

  • Click the up/down arrow icon to select your desired heading.
  • Reports that allow column header customization include:
    • Matrix > Patients. This report provides 4 customizable columns, with 45 column header options!
    • Matrix > Claims. In this report, you can toggle between Employer and Insurance Company.
    • Matrix > Appointments. You can use this report to see grid notes and lab work to prepare for your day; you can also use it to track rescheduled and canceled appointments!
    • Matrix > Financial Day Sheet. In the first two columns, you can toggle between patient Chart ID and Transaction ID. You can also toggle between Patient name and Account Holder name.
    • These are just a few examples of your options! Look for the up/down arrow icon in other reports!

Export Your Reports:

  • Sort and arrange the columns to your liking.
  • Click the export icon on the top right of the report and select Export to spreadsheet. Note: You must have your username set up with permission for this function and you are required to enter your password.
  • Name the report file and save to your desktop. Note: The file name includes .txt automatically.
  • Right-click on the file on your desktop and select Open With > Microsoft Excel or Numbers.
  • Your report will open as a spreadsheet.
