Create Patient Groups in TopsDPX

Patient Groups are helpful when needing to target a specific group for a Reminder, Confirmation Request or Review Request.  Below are a few examples:

• Send a broadcast text to only patients scheduled with certain procedure(s).
• Send custom reminders to patients that have a specific appointment type(s).
• Send confirmations only to patients with a specific appointment type(s).
• Send review requests only to patients who have completed a certain appointment type(s).
• Exclude patients from receiving a specific reminder, confirmation or review request.

Create a Patient Group

1. Go to Comm > Tops Reminders.
2. Go to Settings > Patient Groups.
3. Click the + icon in the upper right corner.

4. Give your group a name, such as Full Bandings.
5. Select the Practitioners to be assigned to the group. Typically, you will select all practitioners.
6. Under Treatments, select the appointment types that should belong to the group - check all that apply!
7. Disregard the Operatories section.
8. Patient Properties allows you to select demographics for your Patient Group if desired. If you do not wish to narrow down the demographics, leave them set to Any.
9. When you are satisfied with your selections, click the checkmark to save the Patient Group. You can remove or delete Patient Groups at any time.
10. You can now send templated automated messages (reminders, reviews, confirmation requests) or broadcast texts to your Patient Group(s).
