Creating Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

The following are instructions for creating custom keyboard shortcuts for use within Tops Ortho.  As an example, create a keyboard shortcut to open the iPortfolio, or  tocreate a Recall, or to change expected insurance!

To add a custom shortcut, select Apple Menu>System Settings>Accessiblity>Keyboard>Keyboard Settings

Select App Shortcuts from the left side of the window

Click on the “+” button and select Tops Ortho from the All Applications drop down menu.

(Note: If your Tops Ortho is not in your root Applications folder, you will need to locate your Tops Ortho application.  UsingCommand-⬆️ to navigate back to your Users>Home Folder, search on your desktop or your Applications folder for your Tops Ortho application)

Under the Menu Title type, type the menu item you wish to create the shortcut for. i.e. to create a shortcut to the iPortfolio, type “    iPortfolio…” (four spaces>iPortfolio> periods).

Under Keyboard Shortcut field click and hold the shift>command>[letter/number/character] you wish to use for the Shortcut. i.e. shift>command>Z

Click the button Done to add the shortcut.

Click Done again and restart your workstation to lock in the changes.
