Add Elastic Configurations
If you do not find the elastic configuration that you need, it is easy to add a new one.
First, make sure you have the Elastic Size you need:
- Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup > Labels > Elastic Size.
- Type your password and click OK.
- Go to Labels.
- In the Label Type field, select Elastics Size from the dropdown menu.
- Click the + icon.
- Type the size information and press the return key.
Next, name your Elastics Configuration:
- Select Elastics Configuration within the Labels dropdown menu.
- Click the + icon.
- Type the new Elastics Configuration name and press the return key.
- Open the patient's chart and select Tx Notes+.
- Click the Elastics icon, or right-click on the tooth chart.
- Select Start New Elastic and select the Elastic Size.
- Click the starting bracket and each bracket where the elastic connects.
- Finish by clicking the bracket where the elastic began, forming a loop.
- Once you have drawn the elastic, click on the elastic again and select Name This Elastic.
- Select your new elastic configuration name and click OK.
- Now you can place named elastics with ease! Just click the elastics icon and select your desired elastic configuration from the Place Named Elastic... dropdown menu!
