Enter an Insurance Credit Card Payment in TopsPay

Insurance companies often send payments in the form of a one-time use credit card. Here is how to process these payments in TopsPay:

  1. Press Command T on the keyboard to open the transaction window.
  2. Once the transaction window is open, enter the patient name and select accountholder, if applicable, from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the fee payment type field select Insurance Payment - Credit Card.
  4. The window will change to Multi-Claim Insurance Transaction.
  5. Enter the amount of payment. Once this is entered you will see the Use TopsPay checkbox. (The box is checked by default).
  6. Enter the patient's name, account holder, and amount of payment.
  7. Select the claim.
  8. Repeat the above steps for all patients included in the insurance payment until the payment total is reached.
  9. Click on Add Multiclaim Insurance Transaction to Tops.

  1. The credit card window will open.
  2. Select Use new card to enter a card.
  3. Enter the Insurance company name in Card holder name field.

  1. Select Create Card; once you click on this the payment will process!

IMPORTANT: Insurance credit cards can not be saved for future use and TopsPay insurance card payments cannot be voided!
