Add a New Staff Member
Add a new staff member and assign them system permissions.
- Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup > Staff/Security.
- Type your password and click OK.
- Click the + icon.
- Enter the employee's information and assign a unique password. Note: The password must be at least five characters in length.
- Click Create Staff Member.
- Select one of the following roles from the first dropdown menu:
- Clinical Staff. Staff members in this role can seat patients in Patient Flow.
- Admin Staff. Staff members in this role cannot seat patients in Patient Flow.
- Lab Technician. Staff members in this role can seat patients in Patient Flow.
- Therapist. Staff members in this role can seat patients in Patient Flow.
- Hygienist. Staff members in this role can seat patients in Patient Flow.
- Consultant. Staff members in this role cannot seat patients in Patient Flow.
- If you want the staff member to display as an option in the Treatment Coordinator dropdown menu of patient charts, check the box for Treatment Coordinator. Note: This will also allow the staff member access to the D7 Patient Care Tracking report.
- Click the checkboxes to assign various permissions. To see what each staff permission means, read related article, Staff Permissions, below.
- Note: If at any time you wish to change a staff member's password, click their name on the list and select Change Staff Member Password.
You cannot delete a staff member once entered in Tops Ortho. If a staff member leaves, highlight their name in the list and remove the check mark to the left of "Active". This will disable all of their permissions, including logging into Tops Ortho.
