Send Templated Messages to Patient Groups

Want to send a targeted message to a Patient Group? Here's how:

  1. Go to Comm > Tops Reminders.
  2. If you have already created Patient Groups, proceed to the next step. If you have not created Patient Groups, read the related article below, Create Patient Groups.
  3. There are several default templates already available; to view these, click Templates in the Patient Communicator tab.
  4. Each template can be edited or deleted. You can add or remove blue variables according to your preference. When you have finished editing a template, click Save.


  1. To create your template, click on + Create New Template.
  2. Give your template a unique name and enter your message. Remember that you can add variables to personalize the message. Click Save when you are done.

  1. To send your templated message, click BROADCAST on the top right corner of the Patient Communicator tab.
  2. Click on Select from Schedule.

  1. Enter your desired time frame and click Next.
  2. In the All Patients dropdown, select the Patient Group you wish to target. Click Next.

  1. In the next window, select the template you wish to use. Click Next.

  1. The next window provides a preview of your broadcast message AND gives you a chance to un-check any contacts whom you do not wish to receive the message. When you are done, click Send

  1. You will see a confirmation that the broadcast sent. That's it!
