TopsPay Minimum Requirements

Workstation Requirements

To access TopsPay, a workstation must meet minimum requirements.


Workstation macOS

  • TopsPay requires a minimum macOS v10.15.7 (Catalina) or higher to process payments within Tops using TopsPay.
    • Safari Version: 15.6.1
    • Chrome Version: 128.0
  • TopsPay requires a minimum macOS v13.x.x (Ventura) to utilize the features available in the TopsPay portal.
    • Safari Version: 17.6
    • Chrome Version: 15x.x
  • To check your workstation's macOS, go to Apple Menu > About This Mac.
  • If your workstation is on an older macOS, consult your office tech to see if your workstation can handle an upgrade.


System Encryption Key

The workstation must have the System Encryption Key installed to enter credit card/bank account information in TopsPay.

To check if your workstation has the System Encryption Key installed, go to TopsOrtho > Workstation Preferences > Workstation Security.

Correct location/doctor combinations

To activate a TopsPay autopay plan or process a one-time TopsPay payment, the patient must be assigned to an office enrolled as a TopsPay merchant and an assigned doctor enrollwed with TopsPay.



TopsPay Portal Access

For users who need access to the TopsPay portal, each user must have credentials entered in Practice Setup.


Single Sign-on

  • Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup > Single Sign-On.
  • Select TopsPay Portal from the list on the left.
  • Select an existing staff member with access and duplicate the existing credentials for each staff member. See the related article referenced below on adding a new staff member to Single Sign-on. Article title - Single Sign-on - Add, Duplicate, Edit or Remove a Staff Member


Staff/Security

  • Go to Tops Ortho > Practice Setup > Staff/Security
  • Select the team member from the list on the left.
  • Scroll towards the lower portion of the list to locate TopsPay Portal.  Check the box to provide the permission to access.
