Guess what? You don't have to put the primary insurance in the Insurance 1 tab and the secondary insurance in the Insurance 2 tab. It's easy to assign primary and secondary insurance in Tops Ortho!
Open the patient chart.
In our example, George's mother Sarah is in the Insurance 1 tab and his father Travis is in the Insurance 2 tab. By default, Tops Ortho has assigned Insurance 1 as primary and Insurance 2 as secondary:
Travis's policy is actually the primary policy. Luckily, there is no need to swap the information in the Insurance 1 and Insurance 2 tabs!
On the Insurance 1 tab, click the box that says Policy is 1st for Coordination of Benefits.
This box will open:
Simply click and drag to reorder the benefits of policies. If needed, click the Order by Birthday button. Click OK.
That's it! Easy-peasy!
